A man’s home may well be his fortress, but we would hope any person could feel at home in Aherlow Castle. A beautifully restored country house; taking in a surrounding panorama of Tipperary’s side of the Galtee Mountains.
The twin turrets and defences are purely decorative; with it’s imposing exterior belying a warm and welcoming interior. The castle is nestled in 30 acres of private wooded valley and serves as a wonderful escape with many stunning forested trails surrounding. Why not take a brisk walk, followed by a warming drink by one of the castles many open fireplaces, a remedy for any worries.
With four doubles and one single; Aherlow would suit an older group, looking for a perfect country retreat; as in this guest’s words:
“We really loved our time here, there is something very special about this place, a deeply restful and calming space that’s incredibly healing. The surrounding environment is beyond beautiful, such a joy to wake to mists over the distant hills.
Sitting in the middle reading room in the mornings with the French windows giving such an amazing view. The silence was restorative and we were able to just ‘be’. Loved the big kitchen, high ceilings, furnishings, everything was so calming. After a very busy and stressful few months, we all felt so blessed to have come to Aherlow castle and we left lighter, calmer and ready to face the world again.” Jennifer M -2020
