I spent a magical birthday with my family in this unbelievably beautiful and very special place. The Hideaway at Foxhollow was picture book perfect and an absolute gem!
It's decor was to die for - a rare combination of elegant style and homely charm. The attention to detail by June was simply outstanding - this place really has to be seen to be believed as pictures do not do it justice. June was an exceptional hostess, nothing was too much trouble and the effort she invested to ensure our stay there was perfect was second to none....And perfect it was! The sun shone, the stars came out and the food, laughter and craic we had at Foxhollow made our time there unforgettable. I absolutely cannot recommend this beautiful house in it's idyllic setting highly enough and I cannot wait to escape to this blissful little haven once again! I have no hesitation in awarding it a straight ten out of ten - and I would like to thank June for everything once again - truly, she is just a star!!

We enjoyed our stay very much and the highlight was the beautiful Hideaway at Foxhollow.
The place was fantastic and in a great location to explore the countryside.

About the Locality

There is a local supermarket just down the road, but for main shops Kells is 7k away, and the M3 will take you to Dublin in less than an hour.
The whole area of the Boyne Valley is steeped in ancient history and mythology, and Meath itself is known as the Royal County – the Hill of Tara was the historical seat of the High King of Ireland.
The passage tombs at Newgrange were constructed around 3,200 BC, predating the Pyramids of Egypt by 600 years, and are well worth a visit.

How to get there - Car advised..

By Air: Flights to Dublin or Belfast.

Dublin Airport - approx 1 hour from house.

By Sea: Ferry crossings from Holyhead/Liverpool to Dublin

pike

River fishing for Trout and Salmon, and lake fishing for Pike attract legions of anglers to this region and there are a number of well established angling centres.

Kayaking and even white water rafting are to be had on the river Boyne, and make for a great day out.
One of the best ways to enjoy the landscape is on a bike, but this is fox hunting territory, so keep your head down.

The house is about 18K from Tara Mines, Europe's largest underground lead-zinc mine, and 9th in the world.

Foxhollow is very close to two protected and rare raised Bogs.
The Girley Bog Eco Walk at just 5.5K, covers varying landscape of forest and bogland and is educational and enjoyable.
